Accessibility

Ruppell should work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, magnification, voice control, or only a keyboard. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across getruppell.com.
What we have done
- Text and buttons meet WCAG colour-contrast minimums.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link.
- Pop-up sheets (like an activity's details) are announced to screen readers, keep keyboard focus inside while open, and close with the Escape key.
- Form fields have labels, and errors are announced when they appear.
- Images have text descriptions; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
- The site respects your device's "reduce motion" setting.
- We test pages with the axe accessibility checker and by hand with a keyboard.
Known limits
- Sign-up and sign-in use hCaptcha to stop bots. hCaptcha offers an accessibility option; if it blocks you, email us and we will set up your account another way.
- Some photos and videos are uploaded by activity operators and community members, and may not have full descriptions or captions.
- Payments are handled by Stripe's secure card form, which Stripe maintains.
